Moving Sidewalks, Flash (68, Tantara ts-6919; gatefold Unipak) cover is nearly perfect, a little creasing and wear at and on the corners. Spine is similarly excellent. Inside covers are also M- with just a hint of wear on the envelope that holds the disc. Record is Ex just a few faint sleeve scuffs, label is gorgeous. Classic garage into psych nexus with Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. Unipak original UD patent No 3,426.960 printed on inside spine. magnficent copy. Very, very rare. The interest this ultra scarce album holds for ZZ Top collectors is that it is the first recorded output by the guitarist Billy Gibbons, who would of course go onto huge success taking that band on endless tours playing a blues/boogie style of rock. Here though, with his band the Moving Sidewalks who never achieved anything beyond some small local success, the style is out and out psych/rock with just the vaguest hint of blues (and even then it’s far closer to a Jimi Hendrix sound than anything recognizably ZZ Top like). Consequently, this album is sought after not just by followers of Billy Gibbons but by collectors of obscure late-sixties psych/rock – and The Moving Sidewalks have made their mark on this genre after their single ‘99th Floor’ was included on the second ‘Pebbles’ compilation. This original pressing from the US (the only place this rarity was issued) is on the scarce Tantara label.

Many thanks, Mike On 01-Jul-05 at 09:56:44 AEST, seller added the following information: Final update: After much discussion after the last week and and a lot of input from many psych fans I think we have established that this is not a 1968 original but either a 1970 second edition or a late 1970s/early 1980s reissue. It is definitely no later than that and is definitely not one of the Akarma reissues of late. Value seems to be about $US150-$US200. Hope that helps all of you are interested and watching.
