1968/Canada/Nimbus 9 Records NNS-101….. here’s an ultra Rare original pressing of this wanted Jazz Bossa Sunshine Pop Psych lp. The cover is in VG+ condition with light corner wear and light spotty seam wear, light shelf/ring wear, a couple of tracks listed on the back cover have a mark by them, delete hole top left, otherwise the cover is solid with no splits or delete. The vinyl is in strong Excellent to M- condition with r very light hairlines. The record plays excellent with only light crackle at cue and between tracks, very nice! Clean strong Fidelity. The labels are clean. Don't miss this great copy! Please check our listings for other rock, prog and psych lp’s. Good luck and thanks for looking!

For many born after 1968, the group vocal and orchestra sound of the Mutual Understanding’s In Wonderland may seem like the product of another dimension. Despite releasing a handful of recordings, the Mutual Understanding was not a group in the traditional sense, but rather a connected collective of Toronto, Ontario-based producers, arrangers, session musicians, and singers, brought together to create musical magic. In Wonderland is an album that harkens back to a gentler and more innocent time. It also represents the birth of the Canadian music business as well as the role of advertising and television in music. Producers Jack Richardson and Dave Bird brought the Mutual Understanding to life (with some conceptual ingenuity from maestro Ben McPeek). The “group,” if you will, was comprised of three top Canadian arrangers, the aforementioned McPeek (who also acted as the Mutual Understanding’s musical director), Jerry Toth, and Jimmy Dale. Next came vocal leader/director Laurie Bower and his fellow Mutual Understanding singers: Tommy Ambrose, Vern Kennedy, Kathy Collier, Patty Van Evera, and Rhonda Silver. Musical backing was provided by the crème de la crème of the local jazz and studio scene, which included a handpicked selection of players such as Peter Appleyard, Guido Basso, Moe Koffman, Rob McConnell, and Jack Zaza.

GRADING

MINT: I consider only New Unplayed or Sealed items.

NM or M- or Mint Minus is the same to me, very clean with clean visual appearance and sound, there may be a couple of light inaudible hairline scuffs or such and will be mentioned in the listing, a Mint- record looks and plays clean. Same for the cover. Very clean with no delete or other issues.

EXCELLENT: still very collectable for most, visually and sonicly clean. A handful of light inaudible scuffs, or hairlines. Cover will be clean with little wear, or delete. No splits.

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have a few minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much. Cover will have slight shelf wear, and or delete, minor split.

VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches. If I list a rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
