Description
The News - Old Wine New Bottles (EMI/Parlophone GVDL 219)
The News were a group that were part of the same late 60's Lebanese scene which the Cedars (Seaders) came from. While some of their early singles had a psychedelic feel to them, others were more soft pop that was reminicient of the Bee Gees. This extremely rare Greek pressed Parlophone LP, which was issued in 1975, concentrates on the more commercial Bee Gees style Pop side of the band (with strings added to some of the earlier songs). The first 2 tracks on Side 1 are more ballsy than the rest. "I Don't Want You" is a bluesy shuffle and "It's Been A Long Time" could be classified as "progressive/psychedelic" (including the use of a mellotron and wah wah guitar solo). The condition of the record and sleeve is EX/EX. Listen to some mp3 samples of some of the the tracks:
I Don't Want You
It's Been A Long Time
Teardrops
I Missed You
It's You Again
Baby You're Only Mine
