British rock band The Police has been "arresting' the world since 1977, when they first began as a band. By 1979, The Police released their second studio album, and titled it 'Reggatta de Blanc', (which means white reggae). Early work by the band was deeply rooted in reggae, but later on, they incorporated all kinds of different styles. On this second record, the big hit was the catchy "Message in a Bottle". That song helped make The Police big stars! ("Walking on the Moon" was also a successful song from this album.)
To promote "Message", the band and their label released a special shaped picture disc of that classic. It's shaped like a police badge (just WAY larger). It also comes in its jacket, made to resemble a badge's wallet. There's "Message in a Bottle" on the A side, with a live version of that track on the B side. Remember, these older picture discs usually sound terrible, with plenty of surface noise. I can't vouch for sound quality, as I never play specialty vinyl such as picture discs.
In its original jacket, with hype sticker (and a price sticker for $3.89. Yikes, vinyl was cheap back then!) Open it up, and there's a pic of the band. The vinyl itself looks really good, with only a few very light surface marks that I can see. No heavy scratches, gouges, or scuffs. Jacket starting to show its age, but still in pretty good condition, holding together well, and still intact. Call the Police, and get your vintage Police badge shaped collectible, while you still can!
I no longer ship worldwide. The costs are WAY too high, and we can't track the item after it leaves the States. It's not fair to US sellers, or worldwide buyers.
