THE POP GROUP - Y


The Pop Group was a post-punk band from Bristol, England whose uncompromising, dissonant sound spanned punk, free jazz, funk and dub reggae. Their lyrics were, more often than not, political in nature. Formed in 1978 by Mark Stewart (lyrics, vocals), John Waddington (guitar), Gareth Sager (guitar), Simon Underwood (bass) and Bruce Smith (drums, percussion).


This was their debut LP and produced by reggae genius Dennis Bovell. It was released in 1979 on the Radar Records label.


It sold in very low figures, making this a very rare LP.


The LP also includes a huge poster - 52" x 23". It's never been unfolded and is in MINT condition.


This has been played very carefully only 1 or 2 times and is in fabulous condition.


The record is in MINT condition with no signs of wear. There are no scratches, marks or other defects. The label is unmarked. There are no spindle marks. It looks like it just came off the press.

The cover is in MINT  condition with no bends, marks or tears.
