Up for auction is one of the first MFSL discs issued. The disk and cover are in Near Mint condition with no signs of wear. There are no signs of scratches, no tears, cuts or holes, or any other signs of wear. All original packaging material is included, which includes the original shrink wrap, protective covers, and inserts.. Please see pictures above. Also note some writing in pictures 8 & 9, where I had marked the records I had bought. Aside from that there are no other imperfections.

I am the original and only owner of this record. I was very careful to take care of it and it is still in like new condition. I only played it two or three times to record it onto reel-to-reel and/or cassette tape. If you were to buy this from others you have no idea how many people may have handled the discs over the years. Buy with confidence (see my feedback comments)) and you won't be disappointed. Also, be sure and see what other record vinyl I'm selling.

Remember the first issues were limited to 40,000 copies so they are very rare.


I can't resist adding a note about this record. The Power and the Majesty is truly an incredible recording. The rain storm may no longer be the novelty it once was since there a million similar environmental recordings for sale. But the train recording on the other side is something to behold, if you have the equipment worthy of it.  The audio store that I bought these from (Ideal Acoustics in my old college town - Dr. Shepard, we sure miss ya!) had a system consisting of two mono McIntosh 120 watt amps connected to the biggest Klipsch Horn speakers I have ever seen. It was unbelievable listening to Track Two of the speeding train seemingly flying past. In fact, the owner of the store next door came over to ask if we had heard a train go past! If you do play this record be VERY CAREFUL with the volume or you may blow your speakers! (Not mention scare the  @#&*%  out of your neighbors!)

I am the original and only owner of this item and I've always tried my best to take the best of care of my stuff.  This item has been kept in a closet (not in the attic or basement) in a smoke free, pet free home so there is no problem with mold or odor.

Buyers have a choice on how they want it mailed to them. Media Mail is the cheapest (and slowest) method but it will include insurance and tracking. Buyers may also request Priority Mail if they want (It's actually cheaper than Parcel Post and includes tracking and insurance for free - which may help explain why the Post Office is billions in the red).    I usually mail the item out the next day after receiving payment. 

I will be happy to reduce the overall shipping charge if the same bidder wins more than one item.  If you have won one item and are bidding on another, please let me know before paying.

You may receive your item in a re-used box (so don't be surprised if it's an Amazon box - it helps the environment and all that stuff).

Because eBay now requires sellers to provide money back guarantees if an item isn't received by the buyer (even if the buyer fails to request insurance), I must include insurance in everything I sell, as almost everything I sell is one-of-a-kind and irreplaceable. The thing is, is that once you add insurance and tracking to the postage of 1st Class, Parcel post, or Media Mail, the amount is very close (IF NOT MORE!) than Priority Mail, which is why I generally mail everything by Priority. Also, I often charge less than what the shipping costs me. Compare my shipping charges against others - some charge TWICE as much as I do for lesser services (i.e., Parcel Post, etc.).
