"THE PROUD ONES" (1956) Music Composed/Conducted LIONEL NEWMAN   A unique studio recording of the catchy theme from the 1956 20th Century Fox Motion Picture in that the films composer also conducts on this COLUMBIA Records single, also featuring whistling by MUZZY MARCELLINO.   When whistling was an intricate part of a movie's theme it was usually Marcellino Hollywood called upon.  He was heard in "The HIgh and the Mighty" and most famously on the soundtrack of Morricone's "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly".)   "The Proud Ones" title tune is one that is hard to get out of your head once you've heard it.   COLUMBIA record number is 4-40717 and it is in EXCELLENT to NEAR LIKE NEW condition.   Side two ("Who Gave You the Roses?") also features Marcellino's whistling and was written by an I.Newman.
