Description

Thank you for viewing my auctions. Most of the albums you will be viewing are from my 50+ year old collection and are original issues. Sometimes I include albums given to me or purchased from friends or relatives. I do not go to swap meets, garage sales, or thrift stores. I do go to record conventions as time permits. You will be bidding for original issue, quality albums. Sometime I will list rare re-issues and the will be stated as (re) in the listing. I use Goldmine Standard Catalog as a grading guideline and tend to get somewhat conservative in my approach.

(NM or NM-) NM records are shiny with no visible defects such as writing, stickers or needle marks on the labels. The album cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits or any signs of human handling. It also will have no ring wear.

(VG+ or Excellent) May show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Minor signs of handling are OK. The cover might be marred by a cutout marking, small hole punch, a cut in the spine or a promotional stamp and even a tiny bit of ring wear.

(VG) Have more obvious flaws such as lack of gloss, groove wear, light scratches and needle marks. When played there will be surface noise that will not over power the music overall. Noise in the passages, between songs is common. The cover may have minor seam splits, writing, tape, stickers, ring wear and scuffs.

(VG-) Is just a compounding of the VG category. Many obvious flaws but if the record is rare, may very well be worthwhile. I do not list record lower the above grades.

Remember, when you are bidding, most of these records are usually 50+ years old and have been out of print for a very long time. When you consider that, damage, loss, and normal use or wear has reduced the market to the point that few of these wonderful treasures are even available today.

I ship worldwide and will accept Paypal, Cashier's check or personal check and will ship on day of settlement.

Due to the value of my collection, I will help save you shipping fees. I have ordered special album boxes for shipping. Albums will have clear covers with new inserts. I also inspect them under strong lighting and play them prior to listing. Thank you for your interest. I hope the information is of value to you. Please view my feedback as I have not been listing since the summer of 2006. Good luck bidding!

From my personal collection, you are bidding for one of my first purchses as a collector. The Four Tunes 12X4, recorded in 1957 and produced on the Jubilee label 1039 in High Fidelity. This is the original black label with silver print. During my senior year in High School in 1953, The Four Tunes had a hit called Marie. The song made my hair come to attention. It was the coolest song I ever heard and when the album came out in 1957 I bought it. This is the one up for auction and the song Marie is the first song on side 1. The thick album has been well taken care of. There are no seam splits, tape, writing. ring wear, scuffs or tears. It is in NM- condition. The liner notes in back are super. The thick record looks beautiful and the labels are are stunning. One needle mark, that's it. I inspected the record under 100 watt lighting knowing in advance that the record is in NM- condition. Almost flawless. It would be mint if I had never played it but I have, about three times in 52 years. I have other copies to play. The listening experience is like listening to a live concert, it sounds that good. No Skips, sticks, pops or noisy hisses, just super great music. The songs include; Side 1, Marie, Dancing With Tears In My Eyes, I Sold my Heart To teh junkman, Rose Marie, Cool Water, Marquita. Side 2, I Understand, Far Away Places, Time Out For Tears, Sugar Lump, A Little On The Lonely Side, The Greatest Feeling In The World. The selections a pure Four Tunes. The albums is in a class of its own and certainly belongs to a collector who truly knows the value of such a fine collectible. Based on the Goldmine guide, the album is graded NM-, the listening experience Mint Plus and the record NM-. There is no reserve.
