"Please Do Not Steal It!"
(Ralph DJ7901) Original 1979 1st US Press Promo Only LP
(see photos for track listing)
Visual grading of disc: (Read below)
Ok, so this LP has been sitting idle since the day it came into our radio station. The LP was never taken
out of it's sleeve nor was it ever played. To be honest, I had no clue what this was and didn't much care,
since by 1979 the evil radio consultants had come in to 'program' and destroy AOR free-form radio for good (which they
eventually, successfully did). In other words, there was no point in listening to this since I knew we would
never give it airplay.
41 years later it's now time to part with it. It's extremely difficult to grade this vinyl, since the low-grade inner sleeve
has left a lot of sleeve marks/scuffs/residue - very common on these 60's-70's releases that just sit for decades. They
have no affect on play but it just doesn't seem right to give it a low grade for this reason. The other issue is two
small 'dots' (more than likely upper groove) on the first cut of side two - these 'have' to be from the mis-guided
move on the band's part (or whoever mailed this) to include an insert with a STAPLE on it (the postcard in photo
#5), which pressed up against the vinyl in storage. No one thinks about these things until it's usually too late.
So, how do I grade this? It really should be 'near mint' because it's never been on a turn table, but it doesn't
look anywhere near that good. I'll go with "scratch-free" for now or Mint Minus with exceptions, but bottom line is, this should play
just fine aside from however it 'looks'.
Condition of sleeve: Low-grade card stock has some wrinkling in lower right corner from age.
Ring wear is visible but not terribly distracting. Wear spots in corners because it's black. No splits.
Includes letter explaining that this LP is 'strange' and return postcard for input from our radio station in photo #5.
Also, a 12 page Ralph Records catalog and one-sheet on postage requirements shown in photo #6.
And a one-sheet copy of an article from Feature magazine shown in photo #7.
Apparently, less than 1000 copies of this promo only LP were pressed.

Continuing with the liquidation of my music collection passing them on to people who can more appreciate them.
These are items from my collection of nearly 40,000 promo 45s, LP's & CD's from the 60's thru the 00's that I was
fortunate to acquire from doing 37 years of on-air Rock Radio.
All of my records are guaranteed original pressings unless otherwise noted.
These records were sorted, stored, moved a few times, and then stored again for decades.
Most were stored carefully, some were not. All of my gradings are visual and more often than not, quite generous.
Just check my feedback. You can bid and buy with confidence.
We've been selling and shipping music worldwide since 1982.
PLEASE READ MY MY GRADING SCALE
(Near Mint and Mint Minus are not the same grade)
Near Mint: Our highest grade for an opened vinyl. Record will be close to perfect in the playing area. May have minor scuffs on edges from decades of storage, or a small hairline mark, scratch or some paper scuffs on play area but no audible distractions.
It's near mint, not mint (which would be 'sealed'). Spindle marks have no affect on grading.
Mint minus: A scuff or two or a very light mark or two on either or both sides that may possibly be heard.
VG++: One step down. A few faint marks or paper scuffs that may be audible. May show some signs of use.
VG+: Scuffs & some minor scratches in the playing area. Some will more than likely be heard.
VG: Many scuffs or scratches that will be heard but record should still play through.
Record grading is subjective. We offer a 100% money back guarantee on everything we sell.
If there's any problem, we'll arrange a return and full refund for you.
If the problem is 'our' fault, we will pay the full return shipping cost.
