Release date: May 1979.  Original Recording date: 4th July 1978, remixed in 1979.

On offer here is an EXTREMELY RARE original issue of “Sunset Strip” (independent 3-track 7”) by THE RIPTIDES, who were formerly known as THE NUMBERS.  The recordings contained within these grooves are POWER-POP of the highest order from BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA!

This particular copy also comes with a bonus ORIGINAL NEWSPAPER CLIPPING from the Brisbane TELEGRAPH (May 1979).  It mentions that this release is a remixed version of the original “Sunset Strip” by THE NUMBERS.

EX beautiful glossy appearance: very light ring-wear (inner rim), tiny corner crease (front: top-right corner), scuffing (insignificant on bottom seam), NO SEAM SPLITS, surface rubbing, very minor spot stains, original price sticker stain (front: top-right corner).  PLEASE VIEW THE HIGH RESOLUTION SCANNED IMAGES CLOSELY!!

Record:              

visual: EX beautiful glossy sheen—insignificant hairlines & one very light surface scuff on side 1 only.

audible: VG++ sounds great with some underlying surface noise (mainly heard during the few quieter moments: run-in, between tracks 2&3, run-off).  Despite minor flaws, this 45 is still A HIGHLY ENJOYABLE LISTENING EXPERIENCE!
