Description
This 1959 release was an opportunity to get a copy of this famous 1950s’ cult instrumental UK release in its original company sleeve. This song was written by George Donald McGraw and hit No 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 but it proved to be their only hit and it did not chart in the UK.
It is distinctive for its lack of lyrics apart from its title words, which gave it popularity around the World with no language barrier. It has a twelve-bar blues chord progression, further adding to its appeal. The song is featured in at the end of the John Waters film Pecker.
It was later covered by the Scottish rock band, The Revillos, (as "Yeah Yeah"), under the same title by the French psychobilly band Les Wampas on their 1988 album, “Chauds, Sales et Humides”, by the Japanese girl band The 5.6.7.8 on their 1996 album “Bomb the Twist” and as a dance/electronica track in 2005 by the American act The Daltronics. Showaddywaddy and The Replacements have also performed it.
The 5.6.7.8's version gained cult popularity when featured in Quentin Tarantino's 2003 movie Kill Bill: Vol 1. Additionally, it appears in the movie Glory Road. In 2004, after appearing in an advertisement for Carling beer, this cover peaked at 28 in the UK Singles Chart; a rare Western chart appearance for a Japanese band. The song was also used in a Vonage US advertising campaign and in the 2013 video game Rayman Legends.

This 7 inch 45 RPM single record was the very first UK pressing. Its condition shows that the previous owner[s] took incredible care of it over the last 57 years. The playing surfaces retain all of their original vinyl shine. The listening experience is brilliant and there are no clicks or background noise. The labels are clean with no writing on either side. In sum, it is perfect so there is no low start price.
