Visual description

The vinyls are in lovely condition and still has an immaculate jet-black glossy sheen with barely any marking.  There is just one tiny hairline scratch at the start of S3 but aside from that you cannot fault the records.  There are some very faint hairlines no doubt caused by the abrasive nature of the inners but obviously they are superficial as they have no impact on the audio.  The labels are perfect with no marking and no spindle wear.

Play grading

'Flip The Switch' plays loud and true with a sonic quality that is second to none.  A Mint start to S1.  'Anybody Seen My Baby?' is just as strong without any background and 'Low Down' has just one light tick towards the end that you could easily miss.  The ballad 'Already Over Me' plays beautifully from start to finish - the quiet acoustic intro is perfect and then every verse and chorus play with stunning precision.  I will grade the third track as Mint- but the rest are Mint for sure.

S2 plays to the same high end standard.  'Gunface' has only a couple of very quiet statics right at the start but otherwise plays with stunning precision.  The power of the audio here is immense!  This album was certainly recorded loud and the sonic quality does not suffer for it.  There is no distortion and it shows 90s vinyl was often produced to a very high quality!  The reggae inspired 'You Don't Have To mean It' plays perfectly and 'Out Of Control' is just as impressive with no intrusion on the audio not even during the quieter moments.  I will grade the opening track as Mint- but I'm sure many would say that is a little harsh!  You know how the other three grade :-)

The quiet intro on 'Saint Of Me' does have some static / crackle once per revolution but the first verse then plays with an 'as new' clarity of sound.  I am pleased to say this level does not drop as it progresses.  The brief intro is VG but the remainder is Mint without doubt.  'Might As Well Get Juiced' plays with sublime quality - the audio is so deep and strong, I just cannot fault it.  'Always Suffering' plays 'as new ' from start to finish with not even a single dust tick.  A stunning Mint version.

'Too Tight' on S4 has only a minor touch of mega light static at the start and then 'rocks out' good and proper!  Phenomenal power and depth and Mint- is richly deserved.  'Thief In The Night' plays with wonderful clarity and warmth and 'How Can I Stop' ends the album with high end audio once more.  There is just one very quiet tick on the audio - as always I will mention any background however minor and believe me this tick is very very minor!  Richards vocal lends itself perfectly to this closing track and the clarity from start to finish is stunning.  Even the percussive ending has no background.  I'm tempted to say Mint but I will say Mint- just to err on the side of caution.

In summary this first pressing plays to a superb standard with barely any interference.  If I'm honest the only intrusion is at the start of S3 and the rest of the album is STUNNING!  So so close to the perfect album!  The clarity, depth, power and warmth of the audio is so impressive and in conjunction with a very clean cover and perfect inner sleeves this will add to any high end collection.

The Cover & Lyric Inners

The cover is in excellent condition with only minimal wear.  The wide edges are very clean with very little rubbing and the wide spine is the same.  The only 'obvious' wear is some light rubbing / creasing on three of the corners but by no means an excessive amount as you can see.  The opening edge has barely any handling wear and the front and back cover are unmarked, they are stunning.  A fine example overall.

The glossy lyric inners are in perfect condition with no marking or creasing.

The records have been cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine

Postage & Packaging

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
