Description
This is a nice early copy of THE ROLLING STONES, USA issued L.P, titled GOATS HEAD SOUP, released on ROLLING STONES RECORD LABEL COC 59101, in 1973, complete with a signed paper inner sleeve. This release has the words to STAR STAR very sloppily censcored with an overdub.
This signed inner has KEITH RICHARDS and MICK TAYLOR signatures, signed boldly in a sharpie type pen, but also has the faded remains of MICK JAGGER, CHARLIE WATTS, BILL WYMAN and a short message signed " IAN" ( probably IAN STEWART ). These signatures have faded, likely due to it being displayed in daylight, originally probably signed in non permanent biro.
The message reads "TO JOHN WITH THANKS, IAN" sadly these last signatures are barely readable. The sleeve has damage, tape on gatefold inner and spine, but the item is worth owning if only for KEITH and MICK T`s signatures. The sleeve and signed inner have obviously been in a frame on display, hence the faded signatures. The sleeve has a brighter colour border around it where the exposed part has colour fade.
The record is hardly marked, plays generally VG with some light clicks and pops and background surface noise. There are marks and damage to the sleeve, inner has split edges. please refer to photos.
I am a long term and experienced collector of Stones` memorabilia, I have seen and owned many of their signatures, these compare extremely well with those examples I `ve seen or owned, so I do believe them to be completely genuine.
