The Rolling Stones have been fantastic songwriters beyond the simpler blues based compositions that were their beginnings, and then the were FLYING HIGH on the strength of their own compositions!
This is an early CLASSIC for this band - who will undoubtedly remain unsurpassed in music history for longevity, quantity of output, live performances, and respect in the industry.
On retrospect the guys didn't particularly rate this album! I am floored by that, as I love this lp completely, it has two of my all time favourite tunes on it - 2,000 Light Years From Home & She's A Rainbow are amazing, and Sing This All Together, Citadel, Lantern and In Another Land are definitely NOT 2nd rate!
At the time there were those who were comparing this to Sgt Pepper, when it's nothing remotely alike. In fact it is less polished and more psychedelic, more experimental than most of The Beatles' output.
There's not much of the commercial or hard hitting rock material of Let It Bleed, and no real blues numbers. However, this is why it's special....and definitely historic.
A great sixties album made in Britain & it's the unboxed Decca lable Stereo original lp.
Condition;
The VINYL is VG++ to EXCELLENT. There are a couple of light marks on each side (that don't sound), and a decent playing and sounding disc, loud and clear, enjoyable listening.
The LABLES are EXCELLENT.
No stickers, bright and clean, some spindle lines visible around the centre.
The HEAVY LAMINATED GATEFOLD COVER is EXCELLENT.
The custom inner art sleeve is EXCELLENT with seams intact, also bright and clean.
