Visual description

The vinyls are in lovely condition and still have a very impressive glossy sheen with no marks or scratches.  Looking under a bright light I can see some faint hairlines no doubt caused by the abrasive nature of the lyric inners.  Obviously nothing to worry about they are very faint.  The labels are unmarked and have no spindle wear.

Play grading

I love this pressing!  'Love Is Strong' plays with stunning depth and warmth and no intrusion.  The clarity is 'as new' and the audio is so strong and deep here if you'll forgive the pun.  'You Got Me Rocking' and 'Sparks Will Fly' both play to the same standard with nothing to detract from the audio.  S1 grades as Mint there is no need for a minus here, it could not play with any greater precision.

'The Worst' has only the bare minimum of light static on the intro but as soon as Richards' vocal kicks in the audio is perfect and it plays like this to the very end.  An Ex+ intro and Mint from then on.  'New Faces' plays with impeccable clarity and 'Moon Is Up' is of the same standard - once again there are no negatives.  Both grade as Mint and the final track on S2 'Out Of Tears' is just as impressive with exceptional clarity from start to finish.  The quiet piano intro is a good sign of things to come - so quiet and yet there is no interference at all, a small number of inconsequential dust ticks that is all.  As is typical of this album the sonic quality here is just stunning.

'I Go Wild' on S3 plays with real power and depth and again... no interference.  'As new' is fair and even the long fade out has no background.  'Brand New Car' is equal to that and the two final tracks 'Sweethearts Together' and 'Suck On The Jugular' complete the side with perfect audio.  The entire side grade as Mint as there is not even a single dust tick to be heard.  Some might say over-produced but I don't!  Just superb sonic quality throughout.

'Blinded By Rainbows' plays beautifully from start to finish.  One of the strongest tracks on the album in my opinion the clarity and depth of the audio is outstanding, a Mint version for sure.  'Baby Break It Down' brings an increase in tempo and plays with imperious quality throughout and then 'Thru And Thru' ends this often underrated album with a clarity that is out of this world!  There are so many quiet sections and yet they all play 'as new' without any background.  Great drumming from Charlie here!  Another Mint side I am pleased to say.

In summary this first pressing plays with superb audio and no interference.  Ok a hint of very light static at the start of 'The Worst' but it is so quiet and hardly qualifies as interference!  It shows that 'high end' vinyl was produced in the 90s as the clarity, depth and power of the audio is just stunning.  Together with a great cover this will add to any collection.

The Gatefold & Lyric Inners

The glossy cover is in superb condition with barely any wear and has been preserved so well.  The edges have no wear and the corners are very clean also with only the bare minimum of wear / rubbing.  The wide spine remains strong and in perfect shape and the opening edges are close to perfect with only a handful of tiny 'crimps'.  The front cover (with sticker) just has one tiny crease bottom right that hardly warrants a mention really and the back cover is just as clean with only a couple of those minor corner 'rubs' visible.  The inside of the gatefold is immaculate - a stunning example overall.

The first lyric inner has one split about 5cms long and the second has just one small 1cm rub, not quite a side split.  Apart from that they are in great shape with no marking or creasing.

The records have been cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
