 I used this grade:

M-  A near perfect, probably unplayed record

EX Close to like new with only a couple superficial signs of use

VG+ With superficial signs of use that don't affect play,  maybe of light surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice

VG  Used, There will be obvious signs of wear and the possibility of light surface noise

VG- Significant wear and marks and usually quite noticeable surface noise.

G+   we're talking about beat-up records.
