This is one of the very first Between the Buttons LPs to ever be pressed up, fifty years ago to the day.
FACTORY SAMPLE TEST PRESSINGS are pressed in tiny numbers their chief role being to test the quality control of the record. To see exactly what the music will sound like following the acetate stage when the music is finally pressed to vinyl.

Once everyone is satisfied the go ahead is given to press the stock copies to be sent into the shops for
sale to the public.
So this is the stage we have here. At Decca records ALL the MONO FACTORY TEST PRESSINGS were given solid blue labels.with the handwritten in ink matrix numbers on both sides.
Both labels are in EXCELLENT order, very light spindle markings and very small light stain on side 2 label not withstanding (see pics).

The original inner sleeve and LP cover are both in very good condition, slight discolouration stain to the rear of cover (see pic) but front and spine both in excellent shape.

The vinyl has a lot of light scratches to both sides and a couple of marks that look worse than they sound.
The good news is it plays all the way through without jumping or sticking or skipping.

The mix on this test pressing sounds brighter than on the released mono version. Charlie's more to the front. As it says on the label NOTICE-This pressing is not necessarily representative of the finished record and must not be used for review purpose.
There is background noise and some crackle between tracks but it still sounds great. It looks like a
well played 50 year old record but I would say it plays 8 out of 10.
The best I could grade it due to the surface marks etc would be very good.

Rolling Stones FACTORY TEST PRESSINGS are exceptionally rare, opportunities to own one rarely ever come along.
Whatever price you bid for this extremely rare artefact rest assured that it's value will only increase with
the passing time and the inevitable passing of the stones...
