THE ROULETTES - Stakes And Chips (Parlophone PMC1257) - LP - 1965
Tracks: Bad Time, What You Gonna Do?, Settle Down, Taste Of Honey, Find Out The Truth, I'll Remember Tonight, You Don't Love Me, Stubborn Kind Of Fellow, I Hope He Breaks Your Heart, I Can't Think Of Anyone Else, Shake, Soon You'll Be Leaving Me, Me Body, This Little Girl.
Beautifully presented example of this original MONO pressing of THE ROULETTES' highly collectable Stakes And Chips album, released on the Parlophone label in 1965. As you are undoubtedly aware, this is one of the rarest, most sought-after beat / freakbeat albums from the '60s, and this is a superb example of it.
The Side One vinyl retains an excellent sheen with a few extremely light superficial surface marks, one superficial hairline and a light, superficial scuff at about 7 o'clock. Both of these can only be seen when the record is tilted to the light. The Side Two vinyl is near perfect with just a couple of tiny ultra-light superficial marks.
Both sides have been played through from start to finish - please see the descriptions below and check-out the soundclip.
Due to its rarity, the LP will naturally be sent by registered / insured mail and will be extremely well packaged. The full value will be marked on any customs declaration, and any import duties / taxes are the responsibility of the buyer. As always, the record comes with the offer of a full refund if you are not entirely happy with its condition.
If you require further details, please do not hesitate to ask. However, please note, we will NOT accept any offer for this record before the auction closes - thus everybody has an equal chance to acquire it.
Side One (XEX 545 1G): There is only the occasional tiniest hint of any background surface noise with just a few tiny clicks plus a couple of slightly more prominent ones. Grade - between EX-/EX and Near Mint - mostly EX+
Side Two (XEX 546 1G): There are just a few tiny clicks. Grade - Near Mint
Sleeve: Overall the sleeve is in great shape with a lovely clean laminated front, a tidy unlaminated back, and sharp edges, but I have attempted to list ALL the defects, no matter how small. Visible on the front are some bumping and a tiny crease to the top and bottom left corners, a pin / tack hole to the top edge which is accompanied by a little light dried sellotape residue, a few minor edge creases and some light bumping to the opening edge. The pin / tack hole and light dried sellotape residue is also apparent on the back, with some light bumping to the corners and opening edge, a little extremely light general discolouration to the white area towards the bottom, and some discolouration and one tiny scuff to the unlaminated outer edge of the fold-over flaps. There is an original Boots price sticker, measuring 5cm x 4cm in the bottom right corner, which is somewhat discoloured. This shows that the record was reduced from 32/6d to 16/6d. Please see scans.
Labels: There are just a few tiny marks to the Side One label (mainly visible when the record is tilted to the light), plus a few spindle marks around the centre on both labels. Please see scans.
