THE SACRED MUSHROOM s/t Original 1969 Acid Fuzz Psych Blues lp!
1969/Canada/Parallax Records P 4001….. here’s a nice original pressing of this rare blues psych lp. The cover is in VG+ condition with light shelf wear mainly at the top and bottom, corner bumps/wear, delete hole top left corner, light spotty seam wear, otherwise the cover is solid and clean with no splits. The vinyl is in VG+ to VG++ condition with a handful minor light inaudible hairlines/scuffs and storage staining from the inner sleeve. Side two has mainly storage staining. This is caused by the reaction of the vinyl with the acid in the old paper sleeves. The record plays clean with light crackle and low background noise in the odd spot, mainly on side one, side two looks and plays at least VG++ with little noise. The fidelity is good as well. The labels are clean with a couple of light spindle marks. A Nice Copy for a reasonable price! Please check my auctions for other psych, prog, and rock lp’s. Good luck and thanks for looking!
COVER CONDITION: VG+
RECORD CONDITION: VG+ TO VG++
They released a self-titled (and only) album in 1969. The album contains a blend of proficient originals as well as a pair of well-chosen cover tunes, such as the blues standard “Mean Old World” and the Kinks’ “I’m Not Like Everybody Else.” While their name conjures images of late-’60s psychedelic or acid rock, Sacred Mushroom’s roots were decidedly more bluesy than trippy. Likewise, their harder-edged performance style is well served by the tight and somewhat pop-driven arrangements, resembling artists such as the Allman Joys, Kak, or the pre-Blue Öyster Cult Stalk-Forrest Group. A few of the Larry Goshorn-penned tunes are certifiably lost classics. These include the up-tempo rocker “Catatonic Lover,” which features some lyrical chord changes reminiscent of “3/5’s of a Mile in 10 Seconds” by Jefferson Airplane, and the Chicago blues-style waltz “All Good Things Must End.” The latter is highlighted by some inspired harp playing from Rusty Work. The opening track, “I Don’t Like You,” is a funky rocker spotlighting the Goshorn Brothers’ tight harmonies as well as Larry’s distinctive lead electric guitar licks.

MINT: I consider only New Unplayed or Sealed items.
M- or Mint Minus, very clean with clean visual appearance and sound, there may be a couple of light inaudible hairline scuffs or such and will be mentioned in the listing, a Mint- record looks and plays clean. Same for the cover. Very clean with no delete or other issues.
EXCELLENT: still very collectable for most, visually and sonicly clean. A handful of light inaudible scuffs, or hairlines. Cover will be clean with little wear, or delete. No splits.
VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have a few minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much. Cover will have slight shelf wear, and or delete, minor split.
VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
