SALAMBO / SLAVE SONG ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by THE SALAMBOS. Original Spanish pressing on the PHILIPS label (60 09 121), from 1971. Cult, euro funk double-sider by this mysterious group. SALAMBO is the theme with the super-cool, B-boy calling card intro and thunderous breaks throughout. Lots of beats and basslines / hard hammond / clipped guitars / frantic horn section / female vocal chorus and funky latin congas. Great for DJs with a delirious anthemic feel due to the menacing stop-start arrangement. The SLAVE SONG side is also superb. Top male and female scat harmony over funky latin lounge with groovy horn vamps. Outstanding sleeve artwork with androgynous female model wearing BDSM inspired / high-fashion metal jewellery. Rare 45!!!

Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG+ condition with light scuffs and hairlines. Some light surface noises. The textured card picture sleeve is in strong VG+ condition with light general wear. 1cm tear to middle of open side / some creasing from storage / light corner and edge wear / ring dirt marks / natural age discoloration. Number written in pen to top of back sleeve (see scan image). Rare 45!!!
