Description

German hard rock and heavy metal band The Scorpions began their long and illustrious career in 1965. That's coming up on SIXTY years ago, in a couple of years. They released their debut album, titled 'Lonesome Crow', in 1972. The first few albums featured many psychedelic songs that centered around the playing of Uli Jon Roth. The band moved in a more commercial hard rock direction with the departure of Roth, and with the late 70s releases. ('Lovedrive' and 'Animal Magnetism'.)

By 1982, a decade after the debut album, The Scorpions released their big breakthrough album, titled 'Blackout'. Suddenly, The Scorpions were being played on rock radio, and were all over MTV! The band never looked back since, and is still around, still releasing new music, still touring, and still relevant...

In today's rockin' good deal, you'll get a THREE piece bundle of Scorpions goodness! Starting with the 7" picture disc of the song "No One Like You", the first US single from 'Blackout'. (The song "Now!", which is the B side track here, was released first, but only in Japan.) This is very cool, and is the artwork from the cover of the 'Blackout' album. I actually always thought that it is guitarist Rudolf Schenker on the cover, but it's actually a self-portrait of artist Gottfried Helnwein, who's also done work for the Rolling Stones, Rammstein, and even Marilyn Manson!

I'll also add the 180 gram vinyl reissue of the 1975 Scorpions album called 'In Trance'! This is a rare Japanese promo release, and it's the second version of artwork. (The first had the model's breast hanging out. This version does not.) But it's a great pic of that beautiful model and Uli Jon Roth's white Stratocaster guitar, with a band pic and song titles and credits on the B side. With a discography backing card. Vinyl looks awesome, and is shiny and clean. Card is in nearly perfect condition.

Last, I'll add a copy of a greatest hits album that The Scorpions released in 1979, titled 'Best of the Scorpions'. It's another controversial cover, but would you expect anything less from The Scorpions? Jacket has some shelf-wear on it, mainly on the corners and spine, with a little light handwriting on the model's hair on the top right. Visible only when up close, and looking for it. (See pic. It's really light!) Vinyl itself looks very nice, and is still shiny and clean.

Bring home some Scorpions today, and the best kind. The ones that don't eat much, or sting! But they CAN get you in trouble if played too loud. You know how weird some of those neighbors can be when they hear heavy metal...
