SUMMARY :
"Live On" was released in 1989 with three original Seekers minus their famous lead vocalist, Judith Durham. Replacing Judith was Julie Anthony, a legendary Australian solo singer in her own right. Her voice is a little higher but still as powerful as Judith's but obviously based in pop and Broadway standards compared to Judith's well renowned jazz overtones. The more full instrumental backing of these tracks and Julie's perfect vocals make this LP however an excellent addition to any serious Seekers collection, especially this copy being autographed by all four during a promotional drive that was sponsered by PIONEER Australia shortly after the Bi-Centennial World Expo.
Prime tracks unique to this line-up include "Time and Again", "Keep a Dream in your Pocket", "Sparrow Song", "Streets of Serenade" and the title cut. They do a great job on the covers on the classic earlier Seekers hits as well. If you like the overall high standard of the Seekers, that is great songs presented with competence and true sincerity, then "Live On"is for you. I have not played this album but have formed the above comments from a CD version.
