Ultra, Ultra Rare 1998 7" 4-Track E.P. by The Shins titled "Nature Bears A Vacuum", released on the tiny independent label Omnibus Records, out of Davis CA. All of the tracks on this E.P. are NOT AVAILABLE ANYWHERE ELSE BUT ON THIS RELEASE! Aside from any CD bootlegs that may or may not exist, this is the only official home of these exclusive tracks, which by the way are fantastic! This is by far the most rare and sought after Shins release to date. I'm not sure how many of these were actually pressed, but I'm guessing no more than from 500 to 700 copies, possibly even fewer than that. It's also very highly unlikely that these will be released on CD or re-issued on vinyl anytime in the near future, so grab this while you can! Tracks: 1. Those Bold City Girls 2. Eating Styes From Elephants' Eyes 3. We Built A Raft And We Floated 4. My Seventh Rib. The only song from this E.P. that was issued on CD was "My Seventh Rib", which was the live version from the 'Know Your Onion' CD Single. This version on the E.P. is the original studio version. The record and sleeve are both in NEAR-MINT condition! THE SLEEVE: The actual sleeve for this E.P. is made of normal paper and is the flip-back style (see photos), and it's pretty much in flawless condition apart from a very faint crease running down the bottom right edge of the back portion of the sleeve. I'm somewhat hesitant to call it an actual crease because it's barely noticeable. You can only see it when scrutinizing the sleeve very intensely. Considering these sleeves were made from plain paper (small indie label budget!) it's in fantastic condition. Other than that, there are no rips, stains, unwanted writing, etc. THE VINYL: The record itself has never been played. I'm the original owner of this particular copy and it's NEAR MINT. The playing surface on both sides still have a deep, rich, glass-like sheen to it. Pretty flawless. The only marks I can see when holding up the vinyl under intense lighting are a few tiny blemishes that were there when I first bought this. These were probably caused by the vinyl rubbing against the inside of the original paper inner sleeve, which is pretty normal with any new record you purchase. Other than that the vinyl is pretty much flawless. No scratches, hairline marks, scuffs, etc. I still have the original inner sleeve to this, but I've placed the vinyl inside of a higher quality poly-lined sleeve to keep the vinyl in pristine shape. I tend to grade vinyl more strictly than most, so unless you're super-critical like me, you're probably going to be extremely pleased with the visual condition of the vinyl. Both labels on both sides are immaculate, as well, with absolutely no spindle marks whatsoever since its never been played!
