Description
The Small Faces, From The Beginning
Original 1967 UK Decca mono vinyl LP, LK 4879. Earliest red unboxed labels with distinctive Decca groove and 5B/5A matrix suffixes which I think is the earliest for this LP.
In summary has the appearance of a G+ but plays a solid top end VG. The vinyl surfaces are glossy but display a fair number of scuff marks and light scratches. Nothing deep enough to cause continuous ticks. These marks do not cover the vinyl, there are a number of clean areas.
Generally although background crackle is heard at a lot of the separator bands the tracks play loud and clean with background noise never really being an issue. The exceptions are slightly louder crackle at the A4/5 separator band which seeps into the beginning of A5 but this soon eases off. Similarly A7 has some slightly more audible crackle which again only lasts for a very short period.
Labels are clean with moderate spindle wear.
Original inner sleeve is intact but showing signs of wear including toning from the original adhesive.
External sleeve is complete and with no glaring faults. Front panel still looks bright, clean and unmarked. Matt rear panel has a small area of scuffing to centre of bottom edge and a small surface scrape to the band's name in bottom left quadrant. A couple of tiny tan marks and just a smidgeon of ringwear scuffing, this marginal. A few pinch line creases leading in from edge areas. Spine darkened but not worn. Other edges also sound with just a fractional scuff to bottom centre. Entry side only gently softened with a couple of miniscule nicks. Has not started to brittle.
