The Smiths - Debut Album - White Label Promo with Press Sheet

- From my own Smiths/Morrissey 300 records personal collection, NEVER PLAYED when in my position & kept in a special metal box for records and thus its fantastic condition.

- The Smiths' debut LP was promoted in the UK at the time of its release by white label copies of the record which were sent out to radio stations in plain sleeves.
- Many of these were sent out with two-sided press releases inside which feature a black and white reproduction of the sleeve artwork on one side, and band information with singles details and tour dates on the other.
This is not a photocopy but the original press release and has been preserved in terrific condition.
- This promotional LP is a piece of early Smiths history; further more, the white label LP is identified as one of the very first run by the matrix etchings Rough 61 A1 and Rough 61 B1 on either side, where the later pressings had Rough 61 A3 and Rough 61 B3 etched on it.
- Examples of this promotional vinyl which remain in good condition have become extremely collectable and difficult to get hold of in recent times, let alone those which are first run pressings with the press release - you may not see another on sale for quite some time, if at all.
- The vinyl has practically no surface marks and retains its glossy sheen; it seems like it was not played at all before I purchased it and as written above, it was never played by myself all these years.
- The labels are in strong excellent condition.
- The delicate press release on thin paper is in strong excellent condition and has never been folded.
There are no marks, writing or damage and it has survived well although it is clearly 32 years old and not a newer reprint or photocopy.
- The outer white sleeve is in excellent condition with minor time stains and would be easy to replace being the standard generic white album sleeve.
