This listing is for the first UK CBS pressing of Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now, the classic standalone single by The Smiths, released in 1984 by Rough Trade Records (RTT 156).
This single marked a major breakthrough for the group, becoming their first UK Top 10 hit and helping establish Morrissey and Johnny Marr as one of the most celebrated songwriting partnerships in alternative music.
This original UK 12-inch 45 RPM single was pressed by the CBS Pressing Plant, Aston Clinton, and features the orange spine used on the standard first issue. Produced by John Porter and recorded at Matrix Studios in London, the release is housed in a picture sleeve featuring Viv Nicholson, with sleeve design by Morrissey and layout by Caryn Gough. It includes the B-sides "Girl Afraid" and "Suffer Little Children," with "Suffer Little Children" taken from the band's debut album.

NEAR MINT (NM or M?)
Vinyl looks freshly opened with full gloss and no visible marks, spindle wear, or surface noise. Sleeve is crisp and clean with no creases, seam splits, or ring wear.
Very Good Plus (VG+)
Vinyl shows light signs of use, possibly a few minor scuffs or hairlines that do not affect play. Sleeve may show slight wear, including light edge wear, a small crease, or minimal ring wear.
Very Good (VG)
Vinyl has visible surface wear and light scratches, with occasional surface noise but no skips. Sleeve shows moderate wear such as ring wear, seam splits, writing, or creasing.
Good (G), Good Plus (G+), or Very Good Minus (VG?)
Vinyl plays through without skipping but has varying degrees of heavy wear, significant surface noise, and visible damage or label defects. Sleeve is heavily worn, with large seam splits, major ring wear, heavy writing, and/or tape/sticker damage.
Poor (P) or Fair (F)
