VERY RARE FIRST PRESSING
The Smiths
PANIC 12" SINGLE with SOLID CENTER
AND ORIGINAL PROMO STICKERS!!!
The very first pressing run of this 12" single were issued with a sheet of nine rectangular promotional stickers of three different types on the same sheet; these stickers were exclusive to this release (since the 7" equivalent was accompanied by smaller circular stickers). Due to the fact that only the very first run came with these stickers, it is now very difficult to find copies which have an intact sticker sheet; many of the stickers clearly would have been peeled off and used at the time of release.
The record is indeed a first-run press as indicated by the "RTT 193 A1" and "RTT 193 B1" hand-etched matrix numbers on the run-out grooves, and this auction offers a rare opportunity to obtain this release which is both complete and in practically mint condition. The vinyl and labels are in superb near mint condition, having been played just a few times.
The sleeve is also in terrific near mint condition; there is no seam-splitting and no creases, writing or other signs of damage. The sleeve is perfectly flat and glossy, and looks great. The original light blue inner sleeve is also present and has no splits or marks. The rare and sought-after sticker sheet is also intact and completely flat with no rips or tears and no marks; it is therefore in superb near mint condition also.
