Description

You are invited to bid on a rare L.P by THE SOUL SISTERS isued in 1964. These two girls also later recorded under the name of THE KOLETTES. (This the U.S group of 1964/1965, not to be confused with the Jamaican group in 1969.) The disc was issued in the U.K. on the SUE label by the, then, newly formed ISLAND RECORDS in The Great Cambridge Road London NW6. I have owned it from new and it has only been played on first class equipment. The item is MONO, the Catalogue Number is ILP 913. It comes in its original sleeve which is in excellent condition with a slight crease on the upper LH corner. The inner sleeve has a slight tear to one edge. The record is in superb condition, but shows a surface scuff on SIDE 1 BANDS 1&2. This is a cosmetic blemish only, and was there when I bought the record. IT DOES NOT SOUND ON PLAYBACK. In fact surface noise is very low with only a few low level clicks or pops. Again, most of these were part of the original pressing. Please note that the mark that show on the photo are reflections of the flash from the record player lid. They are not on the disc itself.

I have a set up that includes a fully dedicated MONO system, with a correct size mono stylus, and a lightweight hifi stereo cartridge wired in parallel for mono reproduction. When played on this system the sound quality is virtually as good as it was at purchase. On the back cover are my annotations in biro of 11-12-64 (the date I bought the disc) and R+B11 (my record filing reference). There is also a sticker with the letter E printed on it. This was a record shop identifier.
