Description

Possibly the most sought after Canadian collectible. The Squire single on Winnipeg's V-Records (known primarily as a label releasing Polka material - this Squires single is the only rock n' roll record V released) features a 17-year old Neil Young twangin' away on two Neil-penned instrumentals.

I had one of these singles a few years back. In researching the item I spoke with both John Einarson (author of the Neil Young & The Squires book) and Jack Harper (the original drummer for the band) I learned there were no more than 300 copies of this single pressed, most of which were sold locally off the stage.

Cat. No. V-109 on V-Records.
A-side is titled "The Sultan"
B-side is titled "Aurora"

Vinyl on both sides is a strong VG+ Probably recorded on a 2-track, the fidelity is that of a typical garage band of the day - not exactly state of the art sound. This single plays without skips and has minimal surface noise. I did not detect a pop on either side.

The only blemish to report is a label tear on the b-side, clearly visible on the photograph.
