Description
Boy oh boy, this is a gem. This is the original white label promo of the 1st Stooges album on Elektra. Generally promo label copies are made before the regular first printings are made. Needless to say the promo label copies have all dried up in supply and have gone through the roof in value. This came from a radio station and has the radio station called letters rubber stamped on both sides of the record on the labels and the back cover. Front cover has the original red "promotional" sticker on it.
The cover has pretty standard wear for a record this old, and considering it was in a radio station library, it is in actually pretty good shape. Some ring wear and some additional fading along the bottom of the front cover. Back cover has the radio station rubber stamp (faint) and some writting in thick black ink next the song titles. Similar wear along the bottom of the back cover as on the front. Overall, a VG+ cover. The record has the radio station rubber stamp on both sides of the record, part of the rubber stamp goes into the dead wax of the record but does not get close to the grooves. Side one has one long light scuff on it. Otherwise it is pretty clean. Side two has a few light scuffs and is also pretty clean. A solid VG+ close to VG++. A nice example of a classic rare and high in demand record.
