From a STOOGES fans point of view,life just does not get any better than this. THE GREATEST ALBUM EVER MADE and to this day nothing sounds like this. In 1970 it was 40 years ahead of its time and it still sounds that far in front today.
On these 7 cd discs is every sound that was made , and every word uttered over the two weeks recording period that it took to make this masterpiece. Double click the cds for the track listings. On here you will find alternate lyrics to those that made it to the final cut of the album. Many many different versions of the songs we all know and love,versions of T.V. Eye with blistering guitar solos an incredible 11 minute version of Funhouse that is out of this world,versions of 1970 where Iggy`s voice is just FEROCIOUS. The list is endless. In my opinion on most of the Funhouse LP they could have picked the better versions that appear on here. There is also the ULTIMATE ACID TEST for the hardest of the hard Stooges head. A 17.5 minute version of Freak wich became L.A Blues . As Iggy puts it Freak was our Steaming bag of dog shit that we ended our shows with and wanted it on every B side we ever put out so Stooge fans could play it on the Juke Boxes to annoy people.
There are Fantastic linear notes by Lester Bangs and you even get 2 songs that never made the final cut of the LP and they should have they are truly superb. A dirge called LOST IN THE FUTURE and the superb SLIDING THE BLUES. In true rock star fashion when Rhino were making this great Box Set they contacted all the surviving musicians who played on Funhouse that was Iggy Ron and Scott Asheton and saxophonist Steve Makay to ask them about the two unknown songs and none of them could recall anything about them let alone playing them !
Rhino Handmade could`nt believe it when all the 3000 of these boxsets sold out in a single day. They later pressed more but they were not numbered to preserve the collectability of the originals.
Condition. The discs look as if they have never been played. Sadly the poster is missing. If you double click the pictures you will see beneath the shrink you will see a crack at each end of the outer box jacket. I complained to rhino about this at the time but they said other than offer a refund, there is nothing they can do as it sold out completely in a day so cant be replaced. The linear notes are in MINT condition as are the cd Cases. I made a plastic outer cover to protect the original cellophane you`ll see it in the pictures.
A penny start and NO RESERVE !
