GTO TIGER!
May 1965
What does GTO really mean? It stands for Gran Turismo Omologato. The first thing you do when you get your hands on a GTO Tiger is to lift the hood. There it is, 389 cubic inches of GeeTo-go, topped with three 2CG Rochesters that are capped with shimmering chrome-plated, non-restrictive air filters. It is readily apparent that the power plant is of the same illustrious family that Fireball Roberts blazed to victory on Daytona's high banks, or that Jim Wangers won Top Stock with at the Nationals in '60. You also had either a four-barrel 335 hp version or the three deuces job that sports 25 additional ponies and a nutty, custom-looking, non-functional hood scoop that really shattered the drive-in set.

This 1965 PROMO record is a musical celebration of that remarkable car. The top side is a Beach Boys type song about this honey: "GeeTO Tiger." The other side was supposed to be "The GeeTO Prowl" but on the promo you get something else: The Big Sounds of the GeeTO Tiger. 'Inside the experimental garage at the ride and handling loop, on the high speed circular, panic stops at the brake pad, and the standing quarter mile.' That’s' right – it's a sound effects flipside! DJs could pretend they were driving the new Tiger. Now you can too. This comes in the picture sleeve as shown, which isn't an ordinary one, it's like a gatefold album with another fold over panel. A picture of the Tigers is on the back.
