Tony Bennett and Bill Evans - THE TONY BENNETT/BILL EVANS ALBUM - Mobile Fidelity's LONG out of print 1LP 33 1/3 rpm edition. This particular edition has been in high demand for several decades now and is the reason the title became an all-time audiophile classic. This copy had been my reference for 20+ years until Analogue Productions released their 2LP 45 rpm edition. Besides the minty-quiet vinyl, the 45rpm version has a little more weight and dynamic slam and is a bit more vivid in terms of textures. Having said that, and since I have not listened to Mofi's edition in many years, it was a real treat to give it a spin and hear that it holds its own extremely well.

CONDITION: I PLAY GRADED this LP. Overall, I consider it in EX- condition, but track by track it ranges from VG+ to NM. Much of the LP is very quiet, but there is also the kind of random surface noise and minor tics that one might expect from a nearly 40 year old record. Furthermore, vinyl noise has no place to hide on an album like this, which is comprised ONLY of piano and vocal (sitting right in the middle of the soundstage), and generally the occasional surface noise appears at the far left and right channels (outside of the soundstage). Each track rates from EX- to NM-, except for "Waltz For Debby," which drops to VG during the piano solo as there are a handful of tics, plus some surface noise at the end.  "Some Other Time" on Side 1 also has a bit more tics and noise than the other tracks, so it ranges between VG+ and EX.
The LP comes with the original MFSL insert (please see Pictures 3 and 4), and inner sleeve, as well as an upgraded/new MFSL sleeve.

ABOUT USED RECORDS
I plan on selling many out of print and rare used records in the coming months. All LPs are cleaned on a KLAudio record cleaning machine before AND after being auditioned. 
In terms of describing their condition, I use the following terms:
PLAY GRADED - This means that I have listened to the entire album. PARTIALLY PLAY GRADED - This means that I have auditioned the beginning and end of each track to obtain a general sense of the record's condition.  VISUALLY GRADED - This means that I have not auditioned any part of the album (generally speaking, I do not expect to sell a used record that has only been visually graded). 
As for describing condition: as we all know, there's a lot that can happen across both sides of an LP, which makes it difficult to assign a single rating. Therefore, I prefer to be very conservative in my ratings. 
I will not ascribe a "mint" rating to any open/used record. 

Near Mint - This means the vinyl surface is extremely quiet, with no significant noise, tics or pops.  Excellent - This means the vinyl is generally very quiet, but has occasional noise.  Very Good Plus - This means the vinyl is very listenable, but routinely exhibits some amount of noise throughout.   Very Good or Worse - Generally speaking, I do not expect to sell a used record below VG+, except for very rare items. 
I will also use a "+" or "-" to indicate a slightly better or worse condition than the broader categories described above.   

ABOUT SHIPPING AND HANDLING: Please note there is a $5 fee included in Ebay's estimate of Media Mail shipping costs. I believe the best way to ship an LP includes a 13"x14"x3" "pizza" style box, 12"x12" cardboard flats, outer shopping bag, and bubble wrap. The shipping boxes alone cost me over $3 each, and the average total cost of shipping materials is around $4.72, so this is NOT a money-maker for me. However, it does ensure, consistently, that these high value LPs arrive safely. Please check my feedback and I think you'll see that buyers appreciate the care with which these precious artifacts are handled.

COMBINED SHIPPING: I am more than happy to combine shipping. Ebay buyers pay the actual postage costs. If a single LP is purchased, the buyer pays actual postage and $5 for shipping materials. If two LPs are purchased, the buyer pays actual postage and $5 for shipping materials. If three or more LPs are purchased, the buyer pays actual postage and $0 for shipping materials (I will absorb the cost of materials). As the final amount can only be calculated after auctions have ended, I will issue the appropriate refund on the day the LPs are shipped. 

About Me: I'm a long time Ebay buyer intent on selling a significant portion of my LP collection over the next year or two (or three!).
