THE TRAVELLERS - Black Black Minds (Paradise PDL002) - LP - 1977
Tracks: Jah Give Us This World, Poor Man Cry, Girl I Left Behind, Keep On Trying, Peace And Rest, False Leaders, Tell Me Why, Know Yourself, How Long, Black Black Mind. Very nicely presented original pressing of this rare King Jammy-produced Travellers LP, released in 1977 on the Paradise label. Heavy roots offering from this vocal quartet out of the Waterhouse district of Kingston, with riddims courtesy of Santa Davis and Sly Dunbar (drums), Robbie Shakespeare (bass), Chinna Smith (guitar), Winston Wright and Keith Sterling (keyboards), and Scully Simms (percussion). The vinyl retains a very good sheen with a few light surface marks, and a couple of fine, light hairlines - nothing significant - see descriptions below. Looks and plays very nicely indeed. A-side: There is a tiny amount of intermittent background surface noise - hardly audible in fact - with tiny and some very small pops and clicks plus just a few more prominent ones. Labels: There is just a pair of initials written in biro on the A-side label (see scan), while the B-side label is pristine.
Sleeve: There is a very small amount of wear to the edges, some bumping and creasing to the corners, some creasing along the opening edge, some ring wear on the back cover, and markings against some of the tracks on the back cover.
