  • Vinyl - visually in *POOR* condition, aurally in *FAIR* condition, as it does play through without jumping or sticking. Please read the following details carefully before bidding :-

    Sadly, there's no getting away from the fact that this is a filler only - both sides have LOTS of marks, scuffs etc. The B Side is in better condition than the A Side, which has about 8-10 noticeable scratches or scuffs as well as a 'patch' at about 4 o'clock (see picture above) which has 7 parallel scratches and an arc/line of a series of small spots (no idea how this happened!). Both sides naturally have lots of lighter surface marks, too. I have tried to take a picture at an angle (with the flash ON!) which will hopefully give you a good idea of what I am trying to describe here. The picture provided hopefully shows the worst patch of marks on the A Side.

    However, the good news is that despite all these marks and scuffs, the record does play right through, without jumping or sticking. There are plenty of pops and clicks and some distortion on the vocals but due to it being a loud track, the also present background crackle is mainly only very noticeable on the run-in grooves (before the song starts), when the music stops for a couple of beats at the end of the choruses and at the end of the song (on the run-off grooves). Basically it's not been looked after but it plays through and I can only recommend it as a collection filler. If you can be bothered, I'm sure you'd hear a bit of an improvement from a deep-groove clean.

    I would never normally list a record in this condition, but it seems to be quite rare so maybe someone will want a filler until that elusive mint copy turns up in your local Oxfam!

GRADING

NEAR MINT: The record itself is in 'as new' condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are also in 'as new' condition. (please note that I will NEVER use the MINT grade, as I think you are asking for trouble! The highest grade I will use will be NM (Near Mint) as even a new record/CD can have a tiny fault if you look hard enough! If an item is NEW I will say so.)

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played a number of times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the maybe some occasional light scratches. If there is any surface noise it will be occasional, light and unobtrusive. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has obviously been played a lot and while it still plays through OK, it will have a lot of surface marks and/or light scratches (maybe also the occasional 'feelable' scratch) and most likely there there will be regular and noticeable surface noise. The cover and contents may suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine and/or seam splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): Still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise - it may even jump.
