OFF-THE-CHARTS RARE COMPLETE original SFTRI 611 first (and ONLY) pressing from 26 years ago(!) on Sympathy For The Record Industry featuring a very young pre-White Stripes Jack White with wraparound sleeve, original glossy three-panel black & white fold-out insert with a very funny how-to storyboard on upholstery on one side and fabric measurement chart on the reverse and ALL FIVE inserts including an original Third Man Upholstery business card from when Jack owned and operated his own upholstery business in Detroit's Pioneer Building the 1990s. The Third Man name was based on the 1949 film but the immediate inspiration behind the name was the fact that Jack was the third man from the 1200 block of Ferdinand Street in southwest Detroit (where he grew up) to pursue a career in upholstery.  The other two were Brian Muldoon and W.E. Klomp, hence the Klomp and Muldoon Studio business cards also included with the 7" along with a Third Man Upholstery sticker and Grindstone Textiles sandpaper sample.  Vinyl is a STUNNING near mint minus.  Sleeve is VG++ with a few small light creases at the top.  Auction also includes the original eil/Esprit RECEIPT dated July 12th of 2007 from when I purchased this rarity almost 19 years ago.  For the unfamiliar, eil/Esprit have been one of the UK's most reputable sellers of music-related ultra-rarities for decades and one of the most respected names around.  Where DO they get that stuff?  A fantastic piece of early White Stripes history.  Anyone that follows my auctions knows I own some White Stripes items to die for but this is unquestioningly one of the crown jewels in my collection.  Consider Jack's place in the annals of music - on par with The Edge and Jimmy Page.  Now consider what a piece like this would be valued at if it were an early pre-Zep or U2 related 45 and you have some idea as to what the future holds for a rarity of this magnitude.  Only 367 copies of this 45 exist and the last one to come up for auction was in July of 2024 so don't sleep Jack White Stripes/Third Man collectors.  It will most likely be a lot longer before another one surfaces.  Miss it and be sorry.
