The Verve - Official American Music Industry Award

 

This is a genuine RIAA American Music Industry Platinum Award for 1,000,000 sales of the album ‘Urban Hymns’.  It was presented in 1998 to a Virgin Records employee who was involved in the marketing of the album. 

 

This stunning award measures 17x21 inches (44x54cms) and is in very good condition.  The record & plaque are mounted over a backing matte that includes lyrics from the album.  On the plaque is the RIAA hologram to indicate its authenticity, and the following text:

RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) awards are the American equivalent of British BPI awards, and are only presented to artists, producers, record companies and others in the music industry that contributed to the success of a record. This is an official music industry award and should not be confused with any kind of replica or ‘limited edition’ discs that are sold direct to the public.   

 

Music memorabilia dealer Eil, had another copy of this award priced at £595.  So this is a great opportunity to own this stunning & rare industry award at a more reasonable price.
