B SIDE: DON'T LOOK BACK
YEAR: 1966
CAT NO: R 116
CONDITION VISUAL (A/B SIDE): EX-/VG+
PLAYBACK (A/B SIDE) VG+ BOTH SIDES
LABEL MARKS: NONE
OTHER INFO: BOTH SIDES PLAY WITH A LITTLE VERY LIGHT NON INTRUSIVE BACKGROUND WHICH IS PROBABLY DUE MORE TO THE CHEAP QUALITY VINYL THAN ANY MIS HANDLING ISSUES. PLAYBACK IS CLEAR AND DISTORTION FREE WITH NO MAJOR POPS OR REPETITIVE CLICKS AT ALL. JUST ONE VERY LIGHT SCRATCH ON THE 'B' SIDE WHICH DOESN'T APPEAR TO HAVE ANY MAJOR AUDIO IMPACT. OVERALL, A DECENT COPY OF THIS WAILERS RARITY WHICH HARDLY EVER COMES UP FOR SALE. SHOWS LIGHT VISUAL SIGNS OF USE BUT IS STILL WAY ABOVE THE AVERAGE REGGAE RECORD WHEN IT COMES TO CONDITION & PLAYBACK.
SIDE 1: A little light surface noise on the run but this was common on Rio pressings as the vinyl quality wasn't the best so this background noise was inherent and is not due to a poorly treated record. The overall playback is a strong clear sound throughout with no distortion. There is the odd solitary tick during playback but no repetitive clicks or pops. Would have to say this plays Excellent given the pressing quality and is a great listen.
SIDE 2: Very similar to Side 1 with just a little light inherent background noise on the run in which is soon overcome by the soundtrack. Nice clear sound throughout with no distortion. The light scratch is only very slightly audible and not all the time so is not at all detrimental to the music. Other than that, just the occasional solitary tick throughout the entire side. Overall this plays close to EX..
