THIS ITEM IS IN VG+ CONDITION.THE JACKET HAS SOME STAINS ON THE FRONT AND BACK LIGHT AMOUNT OF RING WEAR ON FRONT AND BACK . THE 2 LP'S ARE IN VG+ CONDITION BLANK WHITE AND PINK LABELS , BLACK VINYL

Here's an album full of Rock History! It's The Who's performance at Woodstock Music and Arts Fair, Bethel, New York. The show took place on Sunday, August 17th, 1969.
The show is famous for a lot of reasons, but The Who's session is remembered as the highlight of the festival (Even though Pete Townshend said he hated it!). It was during this show that Pete threw Abbie Hoffman off stage. The full story is as follows; While Pete was adjusting his amp between songs, political activist Hoffman got onto the stage, grabbed the microphone and said " I think this is a pile of sh** while John Sinclair rots in prison." (Sinclair was a member of the White Panther Party). When Pete heard that somebody had took his mic, he promptly ran with his Gibson SG, and rammed it into Hoffmans back, shouted a few well chosen expletives, then put his hand in Hoffmans face and shoved him back to the corner of the stage. While the rest of the Band didn't know what was going to happen next, Pete simply windmilled into the next song, the Band followed, and a couple of minutes later Pete yelled "The next person that walks on stage is gonna get f****ng killed, alright? You can laugh, I mean it!" All captured on this vinyl. The incident is so memorable, it even warrants a title in the tracklistings! Also, where you see the song "Naked Eye" listed, the song hadn't actually been written yet. The chords which were to become "Naked Eye" were played by Pete in an improvised guitar solo at the end of the show, followed by Pete smashing his guitar and throwing it out to the crowd. pure Rock and Roll!
As you can see the tracklistings in the photo, I will just give you the gradings.
It's a soundboard recording, NOT an audience recording! The sleeve is a glossy wraparound type, excellent condition front and back. All four sides of the vinyl are immaculate, with only one spindle mark on one side! Only visible when held to light. The labels are plain white WITH ONE PINK with nothing written on them. As clean as the day they were made. The inner sleeves are a generic white paper type.
There's not much else to say about this one, other than it's a fantastic album containing some of the defining moment's in the Who's career, and a tricky one to find.
