Description
THE WHO
Live At Leeds
LP
This is an early issue of the rare UK pressing of 'Live At Leeds' by The Who.
This wasn’t the first time they had played at Leeds University. That was on January 21st 1967. I know that because I was in a group that supported them on that gig. The group was Jimmy Powell & the Dimensions……..
Anyway……This is a press with the earliest BLACK text sleeve. Black text on the cover and inside. It’s in a Gatefold Sleeve with two stapled pockets inside. It has the 12 original inserts, including the rare Marquee poster. This copy actually has 14 inserts as there are two copies of the photograph and two copies of the High Numbers Account Sheet!..............
The vinyl has the earliest A1//B1 matrix.
The record is in Very Good to excellent condition with a few light scuffs and plays fine. There’s a light scratch on Side two, track one. This is audible until the music gets loud. It's not that serious. A few ‘pops’ are heard in other quiet parts, but that's how Pete Townshend wanted it. (there’s not many!). Must be the best live album ever captured on record!
The label reads “Crackling Noises O.K. Do Not Correct”. The label is nice & white with vivid blue text.
The original inserts are in excellent condition. They are completely clean, bright and the edges are firm. The type is that of an original typewriter and the guitar photo is printed in lightweight folded paper. The photo is on glossy card, with NO pin marks. It has the rare Marquee poster in perfect condition. The cover is good, with general wear and a scuff on the front, top left, and a name written top right hand corner. (see photos)……With a top book value at £250 I’ve started this very low !!
