Description
THE WHO QUADROPHENIA TRACK DELUXE DOUBLE ALBUM 2657 013 RELEASED IN 1973!
This has been with me a long time! I skipped school on the morning of its release to go and buy it. To the best of my memory this is that same first morning copy. The only reason that it might be a few days later is if the first one jumped or misbehaved and I had to return it to the shop (Virgin at Moorfoot, Sheffield!!).
The sleeve is in excellent condition showing only slight signs of shelf wear to the back, the opening edges and the spine. The outer sheets of the booklet are still attached to the cover but the inner section has come away from this sheet but this inner section is still intact as one. The front and back sheet of the booklet shows some discolouration from the sun to the top of the inner lyric sheet. I hope the photographs help. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you want more photographs.
The original inner polythene bags are still intact but do show some signs of discolouration to the tops and creasing to the corners. I can replace these with new but personally think that would be a shame.
The vinyl looks great and I would visually grade all four sides as excellent. There is only the very slightest of a spindle mark to three of the four labels, the fourth label being mint. I have played all four sides and couldn't find anything wrong so will play grade it also as excellent.
The matrix numbers are as follows:
Record 1
Side 1 - 2406 110 A?1
Side 2 - 2406 110 B//2
Record 2
Side 1 - 2406 111 A?1
Side 2 - 2406 111 B?2
The album cover was printed by Euro-Albums Holland B.V. and is the original release with the thick spine and light grey finish!
Any questions please ask!
I've decided after 50 years of collecting to start selling my record collection and the duplicates in my cd collection. At the moment I'm just pulling things of shelves and listing them but I'm sure I'll get more organised as time progresses. A lot of the records (and cd's) were bought to play and to keep my collection of jukeboxes fed. However, especially with the 45's and 78's I have bought many that just didn't get played. Any record that has been on a jukebox will be sold as such but the majority haven't!
As someone who has bought thousands of records and cd's I recognise the frustration of receiving an item that is faulty or not as described. I will therefore offer a returns policy. If I have described something incorrectly or if there is a fault with your item please email to confirm that you wish to return and I will refund the money you paid including original and return postage once I have received the item back.
The record will be sent out well packaged in a record mailer with stiffeners to protect it.
I am happy to send overseas but please contact me for the extra postage cost. Postage stated is for the UK only.
My grading is in accordance with the record collector's grading system until I find a better one!
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
I often use + or - to differentiate between these categories.
Happy bidding!
