Description
A great opportunity to buy an ORIGINAL copy of a VINYL LP from the 1960’s by The Who called "The Who Sell Out."
This is a U.K. pressing released in 1967 on the Track label (612 002)(mono). It has a total of 13 tracks (see photos for track listing).
This is an early pressing copy with the matrix numbers 612002 A 2 (side 1) and 612002 B 1 1 1 (side 2).
The vinyl is in a lovely, clean and shiny condition. I always examine and grade records under a bright table lamp and there are light surface marks evident, but thankfully only one has a noticeable effect on the sound quality, where a light scratch causes a click during most of the track "Sunrise" on side two.
I have played both sides in their entirety and there is just a very light crackle noticeable on the run-in grooves of both sides and occasionally between the tracks. It does not stick or jump and the mono sound quality is very acceptable and it makes great listening.
It should also be noted out that there is a small chip visible on the perimeter of the vinyl on side one, but it is not visible on side two, which is unaffected. This chip does not affect the playing of the first track, but this defect has to be pointed out to any prospective bidders. The close up photo of this makes it look a lot bigger than it actually is and it really does not interfere with the playing of the first track (see photo).
In view of the above description, I will have to grade the overall condition as GOOD, but the vast majority of the vinyl is much better than that.
There are some spindle marks noticeable on both labels when tilted towards the light and there is a faint mark at the top of side one's label, otherwise the labels are clean and free from any writing, stickers or major defects.
The record is perfectly flat and has no warps of any description.
The record is housed in a poly-lined inner sleeve in a VERY GOOD condition, with only minor creasing.
The laminated (front and back) picture cover is in an EXCELLENT condition. The edges and spine are still strong (particularly the opening edge) and the text on the spine is clearly readable (see photos).
