1st Pressing Marix Numbers
How can you tell this is a genuine 1st UK Pressing?
1. The triple fold out gatefold cover is laminated on the front and rear. Later pressing were unlaminated.
2. The catalogue number at the top left hand side of the rear cover states 613 013 4 - later pressing have 2657 002.
3. The gatefold cover (where the records are inserted) opens from the inside - later pressings open from the outside.
4. The limited edition lyric booklet is numbered - only the very first pressings had printed numbered 'limited' edition booklets. In later pressings, the words 'limited edition number' still exist but are not stamped. Beware of hand-written numbers - these have simply been added by owners. Also, look carefully at the number stamps - some unscrupulous dealers will add their own printed number. These are usually easy to distinguish from the genuine number stamps when looked at alongside an original.
5. Polylined inner sleeves with 'MADE IN ENGLAND' text and 'PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS' (underlined) 'TO AVOID DANGER OF SUFFOCATION .......' text.
6. The 1st Pressing Matrix numbers are A1/B1/A1/B1.
This is a genuine 1st pressing with laminated gatefold cover which opens from inside and has the correct inner poly-lined sleeves. It has the correct catalogue number on the rear and the original stamped (33979) limited edition booklet. It has the earliest possible A1/B1/A1/B1 matrix numbers.
COVER: Triple fold-out laminated gatefold cover. Near Excellent. No writing/doodles or seam splits. Outer gatefold has some wear along edges, corners and spine. Inner of gatefold is Excellent++.
Inner sleeves: Excellent. Poly-lined 1st pressing inner sleeves.
Limited Edition Numbered Booklet: Near Mint - No. 33979.
VINYL: Very Good+ to Near Excellent. Some light feathering/hairlines.
LABELS: Near Mint.

Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.
Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.
Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.
Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.
Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump.
Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc
Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
