The Wizards was a Norwegian pop group that operated from 1961–1967. The group was originally from Norway but came to operate in Sweden from 1963.
The band came to Stockholm where they got a record contract and came to release a number of singles. Although the band gained some popularity, the group never got a real breakthrough.
The group disbanded in 1967 and the same year they released their last and perhaps most memorable single "The Girl Is Dleeping" and with the B-side "See You Tonight" which has recently ended up on a number of compilation albums, including at Who Will Buy These Wonderful Evils. The songwriter for the song "I Need Your Love", which The Wizards recorded in 1966, has been discussed, is Jeff Lynne (then a member of the British band The Move). The songwriter is mentioned on the album as "Jeff Lynn", but no one knows for sure who the songwriter is.
