Description

This is a fine copy of a 1983 comp of singles and LP tracks by East L.A. Latinx group Thee Midniters.  The group combined the horn section and congas of a Latin big band with the electric guitars and brash energy of a garage band to produce an appealing and (though they never scored a national hit) highly successful hybrid sound.  Included in this 14-track collection -- the first comp of the group's work -- are their debut and most successful single, a version of "Land of a Thousand Dances," high energy tracks like "Whittier Blvd.," "Love Special Delivery," "Jump, Jive and Harmonize," and a cover of the Rolling Stones' "Empty Heart," ballads like"Dreaming Casually" and "The Town I Live in," and one of their later topical singles, "Chicano Power."  The jacket is close to M- with light creasing and wear (EX+).  The disc is clean, and plays with some light surface noise (EX).  The record comes with the original label inner sleeve.

I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.

If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
