THELONIOUS MONK  -  "GENIUS OF MODERN MUSIC Volume One"  -  Rare Original Mono Record Album w/ LEXINGTON AVE address made in the United States in 1956 by BLUE NOTE (1510).  This is an absolute 1956 u.s. pressing & not a re-issue of any kind.

Labels:  LEXINGTON AVE NYC on both sides / DEEP GROOVE on both sides / RVG written in the dead wax on both sides / EAR stamped in the dead wax on both sides (light wear with a few stains, couple of crease marks & a few light spindle marks). 

Condition of the Record:  VG / very thick vinyl is glossy with NO WEAR, some light surface marks / small light surface scratches on each side which do not affect play, there are a few small-ish scratches on each side which are lightly audible in spots (light backround ticks with a few light backround crackles) & there are 2 scratches next to eah other on OFF MINOR which follow the groove patterns - the first results in only a light tick or two with the second scratch being more audible with a scratching / hissing sound in an area for a few rotations.  Still plays very well during the rest of the record with full fidelity, very light backround surface sound and some light ticks / few light crackles in a few spots on each side (has also been cleaned on a VPI machine). 

Condition of the Cover:  VG- with light corner / edge wear in a few spots, light rounding of the corners, light signs of ring wear, several small light tears around the edges, the bottom seam has a 9 inch seam split from the bottom right corner across & there are a few light stains / light dirt spots with a few small tears on the back.
