THELONIOUS MONK "BRILLIANT CORNERS" LP
ORIGINAL DEEP GROOVE MONO PRESSING on Riverside blue-and-silver label, with tape-reel-and-mic logo and "Long Playing Microgroove"
RECORD: a solid VG+ to VG++ on the Goldmine scale - some visible scuffs and hairline scratches from normal wear that do not affect play, but for some faint clicks in a couple of passages on side one, and one passage on side two. Otherwise plays superbly. Labels are in excellent clean condition with minor label-wear around the spindle hole.
LP has been play-graded on a Thorens turntable with Grado Reference cartridge, and cleaned on a VPI HW-16.5 machine.
COVER: good overall condition but for what is noted below on back cover. Minor scuffing on front in center and bottom-center (may not be visible in scans), slight turn-ups at top right and bottom left and right corners, no splits though. Spine is largely worn away, not readable but not split either. Back cover has slight ringwear, very minor light staining, and a turned-up nick in center of open side. NOTE: back cover slightly inked-up by previous (original?) owner who handwrote name, filled-in and drop-shadowed some letters in Monk's name across top of back cover. You may either find this annoying or cute. That aside, this is a very nice copy of one of Monk's greatest albums.
