Description

Available here is a 12" vinyl LP - Themes: The Rock Machine, featuring music and compositions by Alan Hawkshaw and Alan Parker. It was issued in the UK by Themes International Music Limited in 1973 and it has the catalogue number TIM No. 1011.

Record Condition - Excellent - The record is bright and clean - there’s a couple of minor surface marks but no worrying scratches. Having listened to both sides, I can confirm that there is no jumping, sticking or clicks, with a little background crackle, most noticeable during the track breaks.

Sleeve Condition - Very Good - Original picture sleeve with no splits but bearing light corner creasing and a few small depression marks to the back panel. Large pictures of both sides of the disc and sleeve are available on request.

History - Something of a rarity, this is an album of library sample music, which was produced as potential backing music for film and television. A mix of period instrumental rock, with excellent soulful interjections and funky organ grooves, there is much here which might just put you in mind of The Sweeney theme. Despite its origin and purpose, the music is surprisingly accessible and this is deservedly a collectible period piece. (See back cover image for the actual tracks/content).
