'Black Rose'

LIZZY WERE riding high in 1979. (re)Joined recently by Gary Moore on guitar the bands reputation was at an all time high (their previous album was the amazing 'Live And Dangerous') and all eyes were trained on them in expectation of a their next studio album. 'Black Rose' did not  disappoint. Amped up and loaded to the brim with fiery rock 'n roll, the music exploded from the grooves like a freight train freewheeling down the side of a mountain.

Of course among the short, snappy hard rockers were tracks like 'Do Anything You Want To do', 'Waiting For An Alibi' and the tremendous and in retrospect poignant 'Got To Give It Up' all confirming that the band had lost none of its bite. Naturally the albums' center piece was the title track 'Roisin Dubh (Black Rose) A Rock Legend' a killer epic fusing electric Lizzy guitar rock with trad folk songs. This track is worthy of the price of admission alone.

Tough to score this one in decent shape - especially the cover which always trashed - this one is perfect!

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Pressing: Vertigo, UK, 1979

Vinyl: Nice clean condition and shiny condition. No spindle marks on labels. Grades as MINT-!

Cover: Virtually no signs of use. Tough to find this one in decent shape and this is a beaut. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no seam splits and no creases. Beautifully straight and uncrushed spine. Grades as shop fresh MINT!
