THE THUNDERBIRDS / THE NAUTICS Columbia EP ECHK 513
Ultra Rare Hong Kong only 60's EP from 1967. Two tracks per band. The Thunderbirds tackle the Peels "Juanita Banana" and the Rivingtons "Papa ou mau mau" (though as you can see they've spelt it slightly wrong). The Nautics is the better side for me. They do Chuck Berry's "Route 66" and The Grains of Sand's "Thats when happiness began" though how this small group from Hong Kong came to hear this obscure west coast pop tune is anyones guess !!! This has to be one of the rarest EP's in the world. Never seen of or heard of before.
Digging around on the internet I managed to find some info on a Chinese website about Robert Lee - singer with the Thunderbirds and related to Bruce Lee aparently !! There was a youtube clip for one song but no footage. Check it here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaWzZaMd3Vg
